Surface
Engineering Associates (SEA) has pioneered
the use of thin, high precision Nano-Layer fluoropolymer
coatings. These performance-improving surface
modifications are applied using Plasma Vapor Deposition
at room temperature, and can be applied to virtually
any material. We have had excellent results improving
the performance of many materials not previously
able to benefit from standard PTFE fluoropolymer
coatings.
The surface properties
of engineering ceramics, rubber and elastomers,
and a wide variety of small, precision or heat
sensitive components can now benefit from the
use of various Plasma Vapor Deposition surface
treatments with PTFE fluoropolymer.
Silicone and polyurethane
can be treated to achieve a less tacky surface.
Ceramics such as aluminum oxide can be treated
to improve release properties, seal micro-voids
in the surface, lower friction and decrease wettability
(lowers surface energy, increases hydrophobic
surface).
Precision components,
now widely used in medical, biotech, or industrial
applications (sensors, nozzles and metering orifices,
medical components; probes, stents, detectors
and other devices) are now able to benefit using
this new technology. |
